Are you a regular visitor to DTU Campus in Lyngby? Maybe you’re a student, employee or someone else who frequently visits the campus? Then help us by becomming a test passenger in three self-driving shuttles that will drive in the southern part of campus from April 2021 and three months onwards.
You probably know how important it is to get input for your research, work or your projects. That’s why we at the LINC project are asking for your help. LINC will explore how passengers react to the self-driving shuttles, how they can become part of our cities and how we ensure an operation that suits the needs of passengers.
You can either registrer by downloading the LINC DTU app – or through the registration form on the right of this page. However, we would really prefer if you would download the app in your smartphone. This is beacuse it strengthens our research.

When you download the LINC DTU app from App Store, we kindly ask you to turn on the features as it optimizes our research.
You must approve Location and Bluetooth to make the app work optimally and allow LINC to collect data about your where-abouts on DTU Lyngby Campus. The app only tracks your smartphone within a three kilometer radius of DTU building 101. When you approve Motion and fitness registration, the app triggers a power-saving function, so LINC does not strain your smartphone unnecessarily. To receive LINC surveys and information about our shuttle service, you must allow the app to send Notifications.

When you download the LINC DTU app for Android via Google Play, we ask you to approve the functionalities you are asked to, as it optimizes our research. For example, tracking is an important part of the research because GPS data is used, among other things, to understand the movement patterns of passengers on campus.

During the test period, you as a test passenger – in addition to having free access to the shuttle-service at campus – will have the opportunity to participate in:
Competitions and lotteries will primarily take place on the LINCs Facebook page. In addition, you will be one of the first to get to try out a self-driving shuttle, get an insight into the anonymized results of the test and be able to get to your destination at DTU without getting wet shoes. Because it’s a test, the self-driving shuttles will only be allowed to drive a maximum of 15 kilometers per hour. Therefore, your experience will not be a fast track to future. But your help as a test passenger will be invaluable in understanding the technology and integrating it in the cities of the future – and you will have access to free public transport – even when it rains.
To get permission to operate the self-driving shuttles among cars, cyclists and pedestrians at the DTU Campus, we are required to have a steward on board. The steward does not drive the shuttle, but they can take over the steering with a joystick if an unforeseen situation requires it.
